Kanten is a very popular japanese dish, also consumed as sweet dessert. You can prepare kanten with water, milk and other liquids for drinking (e.q. soy or rice milk) . Use some sugar and add canned clementines, and this dessert is even more delicious, because of sugar *hihi*

You dont need to add only clementines, just try out other fruits (i prefer canned fruits). Peaches and sweet cherries are also very fit with this recipe. Just try it and find your favourite taste.

Kanten doenst have much flavour, the main taste is created by other ingredients. The main igrendient, Agar Agar is a japanese vegetarian gelling agent made out of red algae. In western stores you should buy only vegetarian gelling agent, because then Agar Agar is mainly used for vegetarian/also vegan style.
